Shimadzu launches combustion ion chromatography system for AOF screening
The system targets adsorbable organic fluorine under EPA Method 1621 and manages combustion and IC measurement in one software workflow.
Shimadzu released a combustion ion chromatography system designed to measure adsorbable organic fluorine as a broad screening indicator for PFAS-related contamination. Its software connects condition setting, scheduling and result management across combustion and ion-chromatographic measurement.

Laboratories should verify the method's scope, performance and applicable EPA Method 1621 requirements for their sample matrices. A total-fluorine indicator does not identify individual PFAS compounds.
