NITE adds LC/MS value assignment for organic mixed reference solutions to ASNITE accreditation scope
RMRP24 third edition applies from 2 November 2026 and adds organic mixed reference solutions combined with LC/MS value assignment.
Japan's NITE accreditation centre IAJapan revised its ASNITE Flexible Scope Accreditation Classification List for Reference Material Producers (RMRP24-03, third edition) on 2 November 2026, effective the same day. It applies in Japan to reference material producers using ASNITE flexible scope. This changes an accreditation classification; it does not launch a reference material, prescribe a new analytical method, or impose a general duty on every laboratory. The public document specifies no transition period.

NITE's published amendment summary explicitly adds the combination of organic mixed reference solutions as the accredited material and LC/MS as the value-assignment technique in the chemical field. The third-edition table also lists other classifications, including metal solutions with chelatometric titration or ICP-OES, inorganic and organic mixtures using mass-ratio mixing, and selected organic compounds assessed by NMR. The addition should not be read as withdrawal of those existing classifications or a change to detailed measurement conditions.
Producers considering an application or scope change should compare their materials and techniques against RMRP24 third edition and associated ASNITE requirements. Laboratories buying reference materials should verify the scope and certificate for the individual product; the new classification alone does not mean a particular product is accredited.
